Program Description

The Business Office Management Program incorporates the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in the business world. Topics cover time management, human relations, filing procedures, telephone and listening techniques, oral and written business communications. Computer skills include word processing and spreadsheets, database, presentation and telecommunication applications. 

The program offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Office Management and a Certificate of Completion in Administrative Assistant. The program also provides in-service education for office professionals who want to update or improve current skills. 

A wide variety of jobs are available to graduates, including human resource assistant, administrative assistant, information technology assistant, office coordinator and executive assistant. These jobs have been listed for the last several years as high-demand occupations for Southeast Texas. 

The general education core will transfer to a variety of colleges and universities. Students may have earned some college credit in high school through articulation.
