|Required Textbooks||1 Anatomy and Physiology, Fifth Edition by Kenneth S. Saladin, McGraw-Hill Higher Education. 2. A Visual Analogy Guide to Human Anatomy, by Paul A. Krieger, Morton Publishing Company.|
1. To learn basic biological chemistry as it relates to the human body through an introduction to atoms and molecules. 2. To examine the structure and function of human cells and their mechanisms of reproduction. 3. To understand the anatomy and physiology of the muscular, skeletal, integumentary, nervous, and endocrine systems of the human body. 4. To gain the knowledge necessary to compete for entrance into professional medical programs, to build a foundation for more advanced anatomy and physiology courses, and to acquire an appreciation of human physiological processes.
This course will have five (5) exams that are worth 100 points each. The exams will consist of multiple-choice, matching, true/false, and/or short answer questions.
Exam I-Chapters 1-3
Exam II-Chapters 4-6
Exam III-Chapters 7-9
Exam IV-Chapters 10-13
Final Exam-Chapters 14-17
|Discussion Topics||Human Anatomy and Physiology-Structure and function of cells, tissues, muscle, and skeletal & nervous systems. This course will cover Chapters 1-17 of the textbook.|
|Attendance Policy||Attendance is required, and punctuality is expected. If you miss 5 or more classes with unexcused absences, the instructor reserves the right to drop you from the course (instructor initiated drop).|
|Determination of Final Grade||75% Lecture Exams; 25% Laboratory Exams|
