You get one "free" absence before your lates/absences start to count against your grade in the Attendance category. After that, each absence deducts 5%. Three lates = one absence. No exceptions. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class, a record will be kept, and you will be updated at midterm regarding your progress in this area.
1 absence = 100%
2 absences = 95%
3 absences = 90%
etc. (remember, 3 late arrivals to class (or early departures) equals one absence)
|Determination of Final Grade||
Grading is based on technique, progress, attendance, attitude, prepared-ness, effort, completion of assigned materials, and musical accuracy. There will be a mid-semester evaluation where each student will receive feedback. These evaluations will reflect the relative progress and student grade of each student as of mid-term. These are vital to ensure the most positive and productive outcome for the student.
Final grades will be a breakdown of: 20% Attendance, 20% Class work, 20% Homework, 20% Midterm, and 20% Final.
|Final Exam Date||May 13, 2011 - 8:00 AM|
