|Course Description||The study of whole numbers,intergers,fractions, decimals, variable expressions, first-degree equations, ratios, rates, proportions and percents.|
|Course Prerequisites||Direct placement through COMPASS standardized testing|
|Required Textbooks||PreAlgebra, Elayn Martin-Gay, 6th edition, Pearson.|
*Students will learn to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, integers, fractions and decimals.
*Students will learn to simplify numeric and algebraic expressions.
*Students will learn to solve linear equations in one variable involving whole numbers, integers, fractions and decimals.
*Students will solve related application problems.
All assignments managed by the MyMathLabs online learning system.
HOMEWORK: Each section of the textbook covered in lecture has a corresponding homework assignment
CHAPTER TESTING: each chapter covered in class lecture will have a corresponding chapter test
FINAL EXAM: cummulative final exam scheduled as per college schedule

|Attendance Policy||Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. A student is allowed six(6) absences for any purpose. Each additional 75-minute absence will reduce your end of course letter grade by one full letter.Frequent late arrivals and/or early departures will count toward the absence quota. Students that are not in compliance with these attendance standards may be dropped from class.|
|Determination of Final Grade||Chapter Homework-25%, Chapter Testing-50%, Final Exam-25%. * Students co-enrolled in Math Lab or LC 102 can have their end of semester homework average adjusted if lab requirements are not fully completed*|
