Chair of Commercial Music
John Freyermuth is the Chair of Commercial Music at Lamar State College-Port Arthur. He teaches audio engineering, live sound, electronics and core curricula in the Commercial Music division. Freyermuth is a Boston native and has extensive professional experience as an audio engineer, sound designer, music editor and multimedia specialist. Freyermuth's musical and creative interests extend to audio post production, sound art, electroacoustic composition and audiovisual synthesis. Among his many professional credits include Drake and jazz guitarist Bob James.
Freyermuth completed his MFA at Savannah College of Art and Design and his undergraduate degree in audio from Emerson College. Freyermuth maintains an active freelance career as an audio production specialist in Los Angeles, Nashville and Boston. Outside of his work as an engineer, Freyermuth maintains a busy schedule as an acoustics and studio design consultant for venues across the Southeast.
