Registration is underway for new students entering Lamar State College-Port Arthur for its Fall 8-Week Session, which begins Oct. 28 and runs through Dec. 20.
Registration is ongoing for this 8-week session, but students under the age of 30 must provide proof of a bacterial meningitis vaccination 10 days prior to the first day of class to be eligible to enter the classroom.
The Fall Semester class schedule is available in the Admission Advising Office and the Admission and Records Office on the third floor of the LSC-PA Student Center, or at the Help Desk in the lobby of the Student Center.
The schedule also is available on-line through the college website through the college’s website (www.lamarpa.edu), where students also can register for classes.
An important addition to the registration process involves a state-mandated vaccination for meningitis. New or transfer students at any state institution of higher learning who are under 30 years of age AND have been out of school for at least one long semester must be inoculated for meningitis prior to starting classes for Spring 2012. Students MUST have had the vaccination no later than 10 days prior to starting classes.
Students planning to register at any state institution of higher education must provide documentation of a meningitis inoculation before being allowed to attend classes. LSC-PA requires that medical documentation be provided prior to the start of registration.
Students who are currently in college and other limited exemptions regarding religion or health condition may apply. Call the admissions office at 409-984-6186 for more information on those exemptions.
