Monday, april 21

Political Forum hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority: Candidates for Port Arthur city council, school board will be featured. Performing Arts Center Main Theater, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Flavafoods: Lemon peppered chicken breast, salmon cakes, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, dinner rolls

TUEsday, APRIL 22

“Expressions” Reception: Presentation of the printed version of the campus literary and arts magazine, recognition of winning student submissions at 6:30 p.m., Parker Center banquet room. Refreshments will be served.

Seahawk softball vs. San Jacinto College at Martin Field: Doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. The final home game for six sophomores. The basketball team will provide FREE LINKS starting at 12:30 p.m. For more information, go to

Retirement Reception for Dr. Margaret A. “Lisa” Gongre: 3 p.m., Student Center Fourth Floor. Saying farewell to the Coordinator of Upward Mobility (LSC-PA’s LVN-to-RN program), Department of Allied Health.

Life Share Blood Drive: Give the gift of life and receive a colorful T-shirt. Life Share will be set up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Fourth Floor of the Student Center.

Fashion Show: Learn the do’s and don’ts of interview attire, 11 a.m. to noon, Student Center Lobby. Presented by LSC-PA’s Alpha Beta Gamma, the national honor society for business students, and the Business and Technology Department

Link Sale: Hosted by the Accounting Society. Lunch time, The Student Center Lobby

All-Sports Banquet: Salutes Seahawks basketball, softball and dance teams and athletic department staffers, 6:30 p.m., Pompano Club, Port Neches.

Flavafoods: Smothered turkey wings, gumbo, rice w/gravy, black-eyed peas, corn bread muffins


Life Share Blood Drive: Give the gift of life and receive a colorful T-shirt. Life Share will be set up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Fourth Floor of the Student Center.

Mock Interviews: It takes practice to perfect your interviewing skills. Alpha Beta Gamma and the Business and Technology Department sponsor from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Rooms 111 and 211 of The Student Center. Sign-up sheets are available in Madison Monroe Room147.

Commercial Music Finale Show: Student bands Section 51 and The House Band perform covers, original compositions, 7:30 p.m., Music Hall

FRIday, APRIL 25

Flavafoods: Chicken fried steak, beef tacos, mashed potatoes, buttered corn, dinner rolls


Gulf Coast Gala, featuring Johnny Rivers: The formal event at the Parker Center, which includes dinner and entertainment, begins with a 6 p.m. reception. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the entertainment. Four levels of sponsorship are available to help the efforts of the college. Individual tickets are $125. April 28 – Retirement Reception for Cindy Guidry: 3 p.m., Student Center Fourth Floor.

May 3 – LSC-PA night at Logon Café: Commercial Music student, faculty bands perform at 8 p.m. at the Beaumont listening spot, 3805 Calder Ave.

May 9 – Spring Commencement: 6:30 p.m. at Carl Parker Center. 1800 Lakeshore Drive, Port Arthur.

May 12 – Mini-semester begins: Stop by the Advising Office for more information about registering for classes.

May 17 – Seahawks on the Seawall 5K Run/Walk: 8 a.m. in front of the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center. Registration $25 before May 1, $35 after.

May 26 – Memorial Day: No classes.

June 2 – Summer I begins: Registration ongoing. Call the Admission Advising Office at 984-6186.
