Veterans and Service Members

Student-veterans and those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for services, including counseling referrals and referrals for veteran services offered in the area.

Disabled student-veterans or members of the U.S. military are encouraged to meet with the ODS Coordinator as soon as he/she feels there is a need, as accommodations cannot be backdated.  Accommodations can include enhancing the student’s feeling of comfort in a classroom or testing environment by allowing the student to choose where to sit, having preferential seating in the back of a room or near an exit door or testing in a less crowded setting.

Documentation of a disability might be available in a variety of formats and from various sources, including records from the Veterans Administration (VA) physician or medical personnel or a Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
