The Business Office Management program will prepare students in all aspects of working in the office, including integrated applications, desktop publishing, telephone and listening techniques, time management, records management, electronic records, human relations, oral and written business communications, calendar control, and the profession's ethical code. Computer skills include word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation and telecommunication applications. 

Students are also taught to prioritize tasks, schedule appointments, prepare budgets, maintain databases, and develop spreadsheets. In some offices, administrative assistants are responsible for maintaining the company's website or preparing the company newsletter. In addition, students (seeking the two-year degree) will spend one semester interning at an area business. 

Students are encouraged to become members of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. They are also encouraged to become certified as administrative professionals.
