A Message From LSCPA President Betty Reynard
Days ago, I watched in disbelief the wrongful death of George Floyd. His lasting words of “I can’t breathe” were a personal call for relief and will surely become a lasting cry for the collective relief of all who suffer the injustice of oppression.
While I may never know the personal anxiety this brings you, I am enraged with you. I grieve with you. I mourn for his family, friends, and community. And, I am more committed to making Lamar State College Port Arthur campus a place where you find healing, solace, and inclusion.
I hope we all pause, reflect, and consider the impact of recent events in Minneapolis and nationwide on the LSCPA family and those impacted most by this tragedy. You should also understand that we are here for you and our hearts ache with everyone in the country and here at home.
Sincerely,
Betty Reynard, Ed.D., President
