    GTEC awards scholarships to nursing grads

    Golden Triangle Emergency Center-Port Arthur recently announced its fall 2020 Lamar State College Port Arthur Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Nurse scholarship winners. The winner of the $250 LVN scholarship is Megan Gayosso of Nederland and the winner of the $500 RN scholarship is Sarah McElduff of Port Arthur.

    They were joined by the Director of Lamar State College Port Arthur's Allied Health Department, Shirley MacNeill, LSCPA Vocational Nursing Coordinator Eursula Davis and Stephanie Massey, Director of Nursing at GTEC, for the check presentation ceremonies.

    GTEC works with Lamar State College Port Arthur to encourage students with a proven academic record of excellence and a passion for healthcare to apply for these scholarships. In order to ensure that the community will be supported by the highest caliber of healthcare professionals.

    Golden Triangle Emergency Center invests in future generations of standout students by offering this scholarship twice a year; fall and spring semester.

    The Allied Health Department at LSCPA offers an Upward Mobility program to prepare those already licensed as LVNs to take their state licensing tests as Registered Nurses. The LSCPA Vocational Nursing program prepares students for the LVN state licensing exam.
