LSCPA students earn academic top honors during Fall 2024 commencement
Lamar State College Port Arthur honored its top graduates during its Fall 2023 commencement ceremony on December 15.
Five students received special awards representing communities from across Southeast Texas.
Dustin Spell of Beaumont won the Sydalise Fredeman award for associate degree with a grade point average of 3.95 in Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Abel Manuel Castro of Port Arthur won the Sydalise Fredeman Award for Certificate of Completion with a perfect GPA of 4.00 in Drafting Technology.
Sharee Nicole Courtney of Bridge City won the HS Anderson Award for Allied Health for Associate Degree with a GPA of 3.85 in Substance Abuse Counseling.
Jesica Torres Gonzalez of Winnie won the HS Anderson Award for Allied Health Certificate of Completion with a GPA of 3.78 in Nurse Aide.
Beverly Mishell Castillo of Winnie won the John C. Huval Memorial Award for Academic Excellence with a perfect GPA of 4.00 in Academic Studies.
In her opening remarks during the ceremony, Dr. Betty Reynard, President of LSCPA, congratulated the graduating class of Fall 2023.
“I join every guest, every faculty member, and every administrator in celebrating the graduation of every student; certainly, a monumental milestone in each of your lives.”
