Motiva awarding 10 $5,000 scholarships to two-year students

Motiva is awarding 10 scholarships for $5,000 each to two-year college students who live in the Southeast Texas region. Deadline for application is February 17, 2020.

Motiva, a longtime partner of Lamar State College Port Arthur, is offering scholarship opportunities for students who live in Port Arthur, Lumberton, Sour Lake, Nederland, China, Groves, Port Neches, Sabine Pass and Beaumont.

These scholarships are renewable for one to two years for two-year students pursuing an associate’s degree or vocational degrees. An additional 10 scholarships for $10,000 will be awarded to students attending four-year universities, renewable up to three years.

Students must meet the residency requirement and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 while maintaining a good academic standings and full-time enrollment.

Preference will be given to those students who plan to attend regional colleges and universities.
Recipients of the scholarships will be notified in April 2020 with funding awarded starting in July 2020.
