    Seahawks scholar-athletes honored with banquet

    Student-athletes at Lamar State College Port Arthur were honored Tuesday afternoon during the college’s Scholar-Athlete Luncheon. The event recognizes athletes at LSCPA who maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better. Each student invited a member of the LSCPA faculty who they consider to have made a big educational impact in their lives. The women’s softball team collectively earned a 3.49 GPA while the men’s basketball had a 2.98 GPA. Both those numbers represent the best in school history for a single semester.
