June 29, 2026

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) invites the Southeast Texas community for an evening of family-friendly entertainment and activities at its Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Carl Parker Center.
The free event is open to the public and features indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, such as a mechanical bull, a gaming truck, balloon artists, and more. Guests can enjoy food, drinks, and complimentary cotton candy and ice cream followed by a fireworks display provided by the City of Port Arthur.
This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as communities across the nation commemorate America’s 250th birthday, providing an opportunity for neighbors, families, and friends to celebrate our nation’s history while creating new memories together. The event will include a watch party in the Carl Parker Center featuring a repeat broadcast of PBS's signature Independence Day special, "A Capitol Fourth," which includes an all-star musical lineup, performances by the National Symphony Orchestra, and a view of Washington, D.C.'s fireworks display.
“Lamar State College Port Arthur is honored to welcome families from across Southeast Texas to our campus in the heart of Port Arthur for an evening of celebration,” said Dr. John C. Hayek, President of Lamar State College Port Arthur. “As our nation marks its 250th birthday, we hope this event brings people together to enjoy time with one another, celebrate our shared history, and experience the welcoming spirit of our community.”
