LSCPA Celebrates Spring 2026 Graduates During Two Commencement Ceremonies
PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Lamar State College Port Arthur will celebrate the achievements of its Spring 2026 graduates during two commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center, located at 1800 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur. The first ceremony, honoring graduating dual credit students who earned college credentials while still in high school, will begin at 11 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m., and approximately 225 graduates expected to participate. The second ceremony, recognizing traditional college, workforce, and technical program graduates, will begin at 5:30 p.m., with doors opening at 3 p.m., and approximately 245 graduates expected to participate.
“Commencement marks the completion of an important chapter, but even more importantly, it represents the beginning of a new journey,” said Dr. John C. Hayek, President of Lamar State College Port Arthur. “Whether these students are entering the workforce or continuing their education, they leave LSCPA with the knowledge, skills, and determination to pursue meaningful opportunities. We are proud of our graduates and honored to celebrate this milestone alongside their families, friends, and community.”
This year’s graduating class reflects the breadth of LSCPA’s academic and workforce-focused mission, with students earning credentials across academic transfer, technical, healthcare, skilled trades, and creative disciplines. Degrees and certificates will be awarded in programs including Process Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Welding, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Graphic Design, Social Media Marketing, Drafting, Medical Coding, and more. The college will also recognize graduates from dual credit programs representing several Southeast Texas high schools, including Memorial High School, Wilson Early College, Bob Hope High School, Port Neches-Groves High School, East Chambers High School, Nederland High School, Lumberton High School, Sabine Pass High School, and Kountze High School.
Both ceremonies are ticketed events for guests only and will also be livestreamed through the college website at LamarPA.edu. Guests attending commencement should note that large balloons, banners, signs, horns, and bells will not be permitted inside the venue.
