Reason for Running: I am Tyren Dews, and I am currently a sophomore here at LSCPA (Lamar State College Port Arthur). I enjoy listening to music, singing, being with my friends and family, and helping people anyway I can. I am a music education major. My plans are to finish my degree and teach high school choir and share my love for music with my students. I also currently have the pleasure to be your SGA president. It is not about the crown, it is about the impact, I have done a lot of things to help around campus a lot may go unsaid but it would be nice to be recognized.

Reason for Running: First off, I love Lamar as a whole I enjoy going to all my classes and meeting new people and would love to represent Lamar State as their King. Secondly, I ran for homecoming court last year at my school which was my first time running for court and I was nominated for King and won. This is my second semester here at Lamar State my main focus was to make sure I was to do well in all my classes and mange to still have a job in which I did! So now that I have the groove of things, I do plan on joining some clubs this semester.

Antony Nguyen

Reason for Running: My name is Antony Nguyen and I'm a dual credit student at Wilson Early College High School and Lamar State College - Port Arthur. The reason why I'm running for Homecoming King is because I'm a senior and since it's my last semester at WECHS before graduating high school of Class 2022, I decided to apply for this position just for fun. In addition, I wanted to run so that I can have the chance to relax and reduce the stress from high school/college and meet new people while attending the Homecoming Ball. I wanted to make this year count since my high school experience hasn't been the best due to COVID-19. I want to have this opportunity to run as Homecoming King so that I can be able to break from my shell since I'm very shy like an introvert.

Tariq Rahaman

Reason for Running: My reason for running is for recreation. I think it will be something fun to do and get involved at Lamar State College Port Arthur. Thank you for considering me as a candidate.

Homecoming Queen

Emily Ordonez

Reason for Running: I would love to represent LSCPA as Homecoming queen because I feel I am very passionate about the community here at Lamar Port Arthur. I am a first-generation Central American college student and I know that there are many students on campus who can relate to that. I believe the student body is the heart of the school and I hope to portray that as Queen.

Dania Sanchez

Reason for Running: I enjoy being engaged on campus organizations and would like for everyone to have the chance to get more involved so that there is an opportunity to gain the same benefits that our community college offers. The feeling of being a part of the college journey can allow us grow together and develop a better understanding of the elements and resources available to help us succeed during difficult and challenging times. Every student on our campus is encouraged to join these efforts and being homecoming queen is a wonderful opportunity to engage even further and continue to promote all the great opportunities that this educational journey offers. Education is for everyone, and success is within all of us.
