Faculty Responsibilities

Instructors have up to one (1) week from the time they receive the accommodations memo to implement a student’s accommodations.  Accommodations are not implemented retroactively, so it is best if the accommodations memo is submitted to the instructor before or at the beginning of the semester.  Students may request accommodations and revisions to previously assigned accommodations through the ODS during the semester and therefore, might submit an accommodations letter to instructors during the semester.  No accommodations should be provided until the accommodation memo is received by the instructor.  Any assignments, projects or tests given before receiving an accommodation memo from a student should not be accommodated.  Any alterations to the accommodation letter should be brought to the attention of the ODS Coordinator.
