Make-Up Exams

Student Information

Make-up exams are available at the discretion of the instructor. Students may not make arrangements directly with the Testing Center.

Testing is offered on a walk-in basis and administered in the Student Success Center. Appointments are not taken, unless requested by the instructor.

Make-up Tests must be started 1 hour prior to the closing of the Student Success Center during hours of operation (below). Testing materials must be turned in during hours of operation and no later than 3:30 pm on Friday.

A current form of photo ID is required at the time of testing. Examinee will NOT be permitted to test without a current photo ID.

Faculty Information

As a service to the faculty of Lamar State College-Port Arthur, the Student Success Center is available to proctor individual student tests.

• Each test must be brought to the Student Success Center in a brown clasp envelope provided by the teacher.
• A separate copy of the test in a separate envelope must be provided for each student who is to be tested.
• The Student Success Center will provide tamper proof tape to securely close each test.
• The following information must be written on the envelope or on a cover letter affixed to the envelope for each test:
  • Instructor's Name
  • Student's Name
  • Course name, number and section
  • Items required/allowed (scantron, calculator, notes, etc.)
  • Time limit (if applicable)

Completed tests will be returned to the instructor in an envelope secured with tamper proof tape. When the instructor picks up the test(s) from the Student Success Center, the Test Log Book must be dated and initialed. For exams not administered, the 'test not taken' column must be checked, also.

Please remember the Student Success Center is not sufficiently staffed to administer tests in individual classrooms or to test entire classes in the facility. Also, the Student Success Center does not supply any test items such as scantrons, blue books, paper, pens, pencils, etc.

Students must allow at least one hour before closing or before another scheduled class for taking an exam. No exam will be given without a photo ID.

These policies have been implemented to make this process as secure as possible and your cooperation is appreciated.
