Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Testing

The Testing Center administers an approved test for Texas Success Initiative (TSI) purposes. It is a comprehensive computerized adaptive testing system that helps place students into appropriate courses. Placement and diagnostic exams are offered in mathematics, reading and writing for the purpose of advancing to the next level of developmental coursework or placing out of developmental courses entirely.

Upon completion of the exam, students will be given a copy of the scores and should return to the Advising Office to determine if their developmental requirement has changed. Passing scores do NOT release a student from their current course obligations and do not award the student a passing grade for the course.

Registering for the TSI Assessment

1. Make an appointment with ConexED or call to make an appointment at (409) 984-6244
2. Complete the TSI Testing Form. You may obtain one from an admissions advisor or download the form.
3. Pay for the exam online or at the cashier's office in the Business Office Building.
4. Bring your receipt and the completed form to the Testing Center.

Testing Procedures

For patrons already scheduled for TSI testing, those appointments will be honored. Prospective students needing to take the TSI Assessment can make an appointment and receive further instruction by calling (409) 984-6244. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.

• DO NOT BE LATE. There may be a person testing after you.
• You must present a current ID with your signature and photo (school ID or valid/current driver's license). NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Sign in. All test materials are provided (pencils and scratch paper).
• You will receive scores immediately upon completion of exams.
• NO REFUNDS FOR COMPLETED ASSESSMENTS!
