Advising is important to help students achieve their educational objectives through course selection and achieving degree requirements. Students should be advised about their educational goals, financial aid, and the student support services available to them. New students are expected to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Office while returning students are expected to make an appointment with a Faculty Advisor.

The Academic Advising Office staff and Faculty Advisors are dedicated to providing students with a high level of support to achieve their educational goals. The faculty and staff provide students with the tools to be successful, by assisting with course selections, retention initiatives, registration, TSI (Texas Success Initiative) requirements, and questions regarding academic and technical programs.

New and transfer students are encouraged to meet with an Enrollment Services Counselor prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with an Academic Advisor. Enrollment Services makes sure students are eligible to register for classes and assists with the enrollment process and registration clearance. Schedule an appointment with an Enrollment Services Counselor today through AppointmentPlus. Students are also encouraged to meet with a Financial Aid Advisor long before the first day of class. Students may visit with a Financial Aid Advisor by scheduling an appointment through AppointmentPlus.

The Academic Advising Office is located on the third floor of the Student Center Building. For further inquiries, contact the Academic Advising Office at or use AppointmentPlus to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor.
