Fourth of July excitement set at LSCPA

The Fourth of July will be explosive at Lamar State College Port Arthur when the school joins forces with the City of Port Arthur and Motiva Enterprises for the annual celebration of American Independence.

The free family event starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, inside the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center, located at 1800 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur.

All-American fans will find activities for kids and adults, live entertainment and much more, including free ice cream provided by Motiva. Food trucks will also offer a variety of culinary delights, so bring along a few dollars.

The Community Band of Southeast Texas will be on hand to provide entertainment as well as Port Arthur’s own Dwight Wagner.

The big fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. just outside on the seawall. Bring your lawn chairs and don’t forget, there is plenty of free parking.
