How financially literate are you?
Lamar State College Port Arthur’s Financial Aid Office is offering the opportunity to learn more about some important financial situations during the week of October 17.
Each day’s event is free to attend for LSCPA students and will take place in the Student Center, Room 111, located just outside the cafeteria. All sessions take place from 11 a.m. to noon.
The first 15 students at each event will receive a gift card and a chance to win Sony WH-1000 XM4 headphones. You must present your student ID and attend the events to be eligible to win the headphones. You are also required to pre-register at https://tinyurl.com/2s444ucy
October 17: Christina Gutierrez of Mobiloil Federal Credit Union will present information on car buying.
October 18: LSCPA Security Supervisor Jose’ Trevino will present a session on how to protect yourself from identity theft and what to do if it happens to you.
October 19: Candace Landes of H&R Block will give the basics of taxes, how they work and how to file them each year.
October 20: Christina Gutierrez is back with a less on Budgeting 101, helping you figure out a basic budget.
