New LSCPA Mobile App puts power in students’ hands

The power of education is in the palm of your hand at Lamar State College Port Arthur.

The college unveiled a major update to its mobile app, giving current and future students at LSCPA the ability to access information about a myriad list of information critical to students’ success.

Anyone can download the LSCPA Mobile App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store free of charge.

Those already using the MyLamarPA Mobile App should delete that version and download and use the new app. Information regarding the new app, including instructions on download and use, can be found at https://www.lamarpa.edu/Departments/Information-Technology-Services/MyLamarPA-Mobile

Public resources that are available to everyone using the app include a campus map, campus news and events, faculty and staff directory and links to the college’s social media accounts. App users will also be able to make contact with campus security.

Once a student is admitted to LSCPA, they can sign in to the app to view their schedule, look up classes, add or drop classes, view holds, final grades and their account summary.

“With this upgrade, we are striving to make the college more accessible to anyone wanting information about Lamar State College Port Arthur,” said Samir Ghorayeb, LSCPA Director of Information Technology. “With the LSCPA Mobile App, we’ve accomplished that goal.”

The LSCPA Mobile App project has been months in development as the college sought to find the perfect way to interact with current and potential students through portable electronics.

“Phones and tablets are a constant fixture in our lives,” Ghorayeb said. “We knew we needed to take the conversation about how much LSCPA has to offer to our audience where they live and that’s right there in the palms of their hands.”
