Hi Seahawks!

My name is Roger Turcios, Jr., and I’m excited to serve as the Director of Student Life at Lamar State College Port Arthur!

As a proud LSCPA alumnus and first-generation college graduate, it’s especially meaningful to return to the college where my own educational journey began. I know firsthand that college can be exciting, but it can also come with questions, challenges, and moments when you’re trying to figure everything out. Having people who support you and opportunities to get involved can make all the difference.

My background includes higher education, communications, and community engagement, and I’ve always enjoyed bringing people together and creating experiences that make a difference. As someone who is also bilingual in English and Spanish, I understand how important it is for students from different backgrounds to feel welcomed, represented, and connected.

My goal is to make Student Life more than just events and activities. I want it to be a place where you can meet new people, discover opportunities, develop as a leader, share your ideas, and make the most of your time as a Seahawk.

Whether you have an idea for a campus event, want to get involved, or simply want to introduce yourself, stop by and say hello! I’m always happy to connect about student engagement opportunities, collaborations, and ideas that can make your Seahawk experience even better.

I look forward to meeting you and making your time at LSCPA a memorable one!
