Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is an operating component of the Student Services Department. Our mission is to provide high-quality services to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and others. We accomplish our mission by striving towards excellence in all we do. It is our goal to present a welcoming environment to all. We challenge ourselves to be efficient and effective by seeking out new and better ways of doing business.
Our Core Functions
- Certify academic eligibility of student athletes
- Graduation and Commencement
- Provide the final degree review of undergraduates and graduates
- Coordinates the distribution of diplomas
- Organizes and conducts commencement ceremonies
- Manages degree audit system
- Monitors students’ academic progress
- Maintain accuracy of degree plans
- Maintain general core requirements
- Oversight of compliance with FERPA
- Registration
- Add, drop, withdrawal courses
- Change of majors, concentrations, minors
- Manages student biographical and demographic information changes
- Immunization records
- Student Records Management and Maintenance
- Imaging

- Verifications
- For all enrollment and degree verifications Lamar State College - Port Arthur has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse for their online service. All verifications can be requested through their website at www.degreeverify.org.
- Loan deferments
- See the Deferment Form Checklist and submit your form to the National Student Clearinghouse following the instructions at the bottom of the checklist.
